I had the best time going there ever I believe that the cabins are a little small and that they need to turn off their pilot light during the summer. But all in all 10 out of 10 also the rooms could be cleaned a little bit better I watched the housekeeping going and clean out one of the cabins and they didn’t do a very good job. The mop look pretty dirty.

Everything about the cabin was nice and comfortable. I would definitely visit again. The only down side is the mattress pads they have on the beds. They aren’t very comfortable and don’t really allow for a good sleep. Otherwise the bathrooms are remarkably clean and the grounds are beautiful.

Our room still has sand on the floor. Showers were the same. No toilet paper in the rolls. Ignorant ppl chasing and agitating the bears ALL night on the golf carts making it uncomfortable to stay another night with small children wanting to wander around. Those golf carts are a nuisance to the wildlife and ppl trying to get sleep at night. Worst experience I’ve had there in over a decade. It use to be a Serene place to be! Hopefully new owners listen to customers complaints. They are worrisome!

Thankful to get a cottage instead of a cabin. The cottages have a bathroom, mini fridge with freezer, 2 small stove top burners, a microwave, sink, and table and 4 chairs…the cabins do not. (Cottage 23) Everything outside such as the picnic table, other tables, chairs, and charcoal grill were all going down a hill made it interesting to cook and be able to sit around the campfire. You will definitely want to bring padding to put on the mattresses.
Very rough and rocky terrain I suggest bikes instead of electric scooters.
Also bring peanuts! We were able to feed chipmunks peanuts out of our hands!
You’re able to rent paddle boats by the hour (we rented 2, I think it was $38). You’re also able to rent go carts for your stay.
Colyspo’s Cove and Water Safari is 5 minutes down the road or the camp resort also has a shuttle.
A must stop for the best donuts and breakfast sandwiches is a place up the rd less than 10 miles away is called The Donut Shop of Eagle Bay!
Overall a great trip and experience for all of the family to enjoy.

W have enjoyed this campground in the past. However we had issues from the time we were informed our reservation was not corrected to the appropriate size of our camper. We drove over 4 hrs to find out they not only put us in a spot we could not get into … we had to back all the way up the hill, turn around and back all the way down to our site (it was several hundred ft rd and steep hill for a camper with nowhere to manuver into your site seeing as there were three other campers in that corner ) the branches were not trimmed on the roads to sites and drug across our roof and ac unit. We were promised somebody would be through before we left (four days later) to trim the branches, needless to say nobody ever trimmed said branches. My husband had to climb onto the roof on the way out to snap some branches that really hit our roof . The only thing offered to us was a site so small it wouldn’t have fit half our camper and water park passes . |Our last experience we couldn’t turn dow the “one way” rd to our site as the turn was so sharp, and the toy hauler behind us was several ft onto our site . |If the above were not issues this is a pretty nice family campground and centrally located to visit old forge and the waterpark.

Great location. Lots of bears. Been here many times. First year noticing multiple unruly campers well after quiet hours. Used to be at least somewhat enforced. Hopefully not a downward trend.

I must begin by acknowledging the amiable staff at the office and store, but I must also shed light on the dismal reality of the Old Forge Campground Resort – a desolate wasteland that will undoubtedly leave you questioning your decision to ever set foot in such a forsaken place. Brace yourself for an unsettling experience filled with mud, dirt, decaying trees, and an eerie heaviness in the air, courtesy of the pyromaniacs who seem to lurk with lighter fluid and a sense of impending doom.

The true horror lies not only in the decrepit surroundings but also in your neighbors – a pair of cantankerous seniors who relish in making your stay a nightmare. Unfortunately for us, our grumpy senior neighbors and their poor dog Buddy who clearly wanted to run far away from them, armed with a sense of entitlement and a complete lack of respect for boundaries, constantly encroached upon our personal space without a second thought. They strolled through our campsite as if it were their personal playground, disturbing the peace and privacy of our dogs. Their constant presence only added to the chorus of barks, fueling the fury of these self-proclaimed guardians of campground etiquette. These neighbors created a hostile atmosphere that transformed our camping trip into a living nightmare. They ostentatiously set up a tent on our bumper for display, never once using the kayaks they carelessly tossed onto our site. It was obvious that they had no intention of using any of their expensive toys, as they seemed more content to lounge around and nitpick every little thing but that’s not the resorts fault and I get it.

The campground itself offers limited activities for children, with a small, man-made sandy area by the lake that may not meet everyone’s standards of cleanliness. The lake itself may not be the pristine swimming spot you were hoping for, as it lacks water quality testing and is sometimes used for bathing with soap once it gets dark. The anticipated paddle boating and lakeside fun turned out to be a heart-wrenching deception, a tempting dream that quickly fades away upon closer examination. The pedal boats, available at a steep cost, are merely a faint reminder of their once vibrant past, remnants from a time when happiness and excitement thrived in this barren setting. There’s just nothing to do at all for kids. No happenings, old tube tv to watch a kid movie, old park, no swings, unsafe slides, never found the basketball courts or the dog area because they’re no where near the pavilion. Bathrooms are shared gender by the tents- not sure about the rest. Arcade is broken down, 9 out of 12 out of order. Nothing at all to do.
Despite these drawbacks, there are still opportunities for outdoor fun, such as hiking and exploring the surrounding area. Just don’t expect state-of-the-art facilities or entertainment options within the campground itself. For those seeking more excitement, nearby attractions like water parks and go-kart tracks may provide a change of pace, though be prepared for crowds and long waits and perhaps update your Tetanus shot. It’s kinda prehistoric and needs work.
The presence of wildlife, including bears drawn by the neglect and decay, adds another layer of danger to the already unsettling atmosphere. Dining options are equally disheartening, with subpar pizza joints and lackluster breakfast spots contributing to the overall sense of despair. Pancake place is awful – old reheated pancakes to keep up with the crowd.
In conclusion, the Old Forge Campground Resort is a dissatisfying realm where joy goes to die, and dreams are crushed beneath the weight of disappointment. Enter at your own risk, and prepare yourself for a camping experience gone horribly wrong if you get crappy neighbors. Abandon hope, all who dare to venture into this bleak and forsaken place. 2 days tops of you have pets and kids since there’s nothing to do.Amenities Dog walk has a tree down making it impossible to walk thorough and the nature walk is closed off with caution tape. The bathroom are shared gender but each stall has a lock.
